A Comprehensive and Modular Data Management Solution
Time Navigator Server
Available on a wide range of platforms, Time Navigator Server is the central point of administration for agents, database modules, storage nodes, libraries and drives. The software provides the tools to hold backup strategies and schedules, and keep track of all backed up object indexes in order to enable time navigation.
Time Navigator Storage Node
Time Navigator Storage Node is a key component for SAN backup as well as remote site backup. It provides the optimal way to gather data streams to a central location to be backed up seamlessly to tape or disk, while relying on a centralized Time Navigator Server for administration and index management. A storage node handles libraries and drives, centralizes data streams and supports an unlimited number of database modules.
Backup Agents
The Time Navigator Agent resides on the client host to read and write data during backup and recovery operations and send the data to the host or storage node. It is a native agent, capable of backing up and restoring files with all relevant attributes for optimal restoration.
Database Agents
Database agents are plug-in modules that use the native method provided by database vendors to backup the databases while running. They are non-disruptive to the database operations and allow full or partial recovery after a major or minor database incident.
Data Archival Module
The Data Archival module is the natural add-on to Time Navigator's backup and recovery engine. This module provides a simple way to graphically select, classify and document sets of data for long-term archiving purposes. Through a central repository of folders, archives and keywords, the data can be easily retrieved on demand. This module is easily interfaced with business applications, either via the API or the command-line mode, to provide unlimited storage space.
Disaster Recovery Module
The Disaster Recovery module provides advanced capabilities to store images of disks, including system disks, for full recovery in case of a major system crash. The recovery operation is based on a bootable CD that seamlessly recovers the most recent image available from the Time Navigator backups.
NAS Modules
The Network Attached Storage modules consist of agents for NDMP-based NAS, an agent for Windows-based NAS, as well as the NDMP Data Server that enables any file server to be backed up and restored via the powerful NDMP method. In addition, the NDMP tape server offers tape and library automation in order to centralize backup from multiple remote NASs.
SAN Modules
The Storage Area Networks modules consist of shared drive options, storage nodes, and the Enterprise Storage module. The storage node is installed on all hosts and is backed up directly via the SAN, enabling LAN-free backup to shared drives and libraries on the SAN.
